- Cape Speaker Evening - Eric Spencer "Ethos/Moralis
- Venue: Pinewood Bowling Club
Date: 22-Sep- 2009 Time: 19H00 Description: The aim of this presentation is to address questions of ethics and morality from a fresh and controversial perspective. It is hoped persons attending will be challenged in their thinking and will reconsider matters ancient and modern in a new light. One's understanding of manners, culture, diversity and civilization requires constant renewal. Nature vs civilization; nature vs nurture; absolutism vs relativism; the collective vs the individual; the individual vs culture are among the dichotomies to be explored.
Our speaker is a friend of Mensa, having given us a talk before on
personality types.
Eric Spencer holds a degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University (Washington, D.C, USA) where he studied world history, diplomacy, and humanities in international affairs.
He has spent ten years in the private education sector, and ten years in human resources and training and development in the business sector. His education in international humanities and his experience in education and workplace training led to his increased interest in the theory and practical application of matters of ethics.
Those of you who attended Eric's previous talk will remember him as a fine speaker. Now, discover what a fine thinker he is, and challenge your own beliefs.
