• This website stores and displays no personal information or contact details of any users except for the information that users choose to display, such as telephone numbers and email addresses in the "Contact Mensa" sections.
• There is no connection or link whatsoever between the Mensa membership database and this website's contents database. The Mensa membership database is a completely off-line resource and does not exist on any Internet server.
• The member registration and login to this website are completely anonymous. The password for the General Login is common and is not associated with any individual. The password and username for the Registered Login are similarly not associated with the name or any particulars of anyone.
• This website does not use "cookies" (mini-scripts for storing and transferring information between computers). It does not and cannot write any information to the user's hard drive. It does not and cannot read any information from the user's computer except for information which the user knowingly chooses to upload to the server, such as usernames and passwords for anonymous login, or texts of book reviews for member pages, classified adverts, links to other websites, etc.
• Except for the Webmaster's email address, no email addresses are hard-coded into any page of this website. All email addresses and other contact details (such as those of Mensa committee members, or contact telephone numbers which users may include in the Classified Ads section) are stored in a database which itself is not stored at the same location as this website on the Web server. "Email harvesting" programs and other devices employed by spammers cannot access the database to gather email addresses. Spammers cannot harvest email addresses en masse directly from the website itself because all of the pages are generated "on the fly" as users request individual pages.
• No paths to the Web database or other scripts for this website can be displayed by the usual procedure of clicking "View > Source" in the browser menu to see the code for a displayed web page. No browsers can display these scripts. Browsers can display only the slabs of plain HTML code generated by the scripts.
• Mensa South Africa and its designated webmaster will not sell or issue the email address or other contact details of any member to anyone for any purpose whatsover without the member's prior express permission.
